Here is a quick and easy way to make your own oils for all sorts of magic at home. Follow this system and you will not need to buy our oils again! However, you are always welcome should this process be to time consuming.
For a 16oz bottle of base oil you will pay between $10 to $25, depending on the type of base oil you choose. This size bottle of base oil will make you around 16 1oz bottles of magical oil.
The herbs will cost between $2 to $10 each if you choose to buy a 1 to 2 oz bag of herbs. However you will have many herbs already in your panty or in your garden. Try and find alternative herbs that you do have at home before you spend money on buying a herb just to follow another formula!
Bottles can be as fancy or as simple as you like. If you are on a budget, just save a glass food container, wash it out well, and yo have a free solution. Otherwise, we have a few ideas for you below.
Getting Started
One you know what type of oil you want to make, follow the BMW oil making process:

Herbs & Oils
You should research a few herbs that have the properties of what you are trying to achieve. Don’t go overboard and put more than a few in your oil blend. Think about what each herb brings to the mix.
TIP – Remember to hold the herb and thank it for the energy it brings, before you add it to the oil.
For example, if you are making a Fast Luck Oil, you could use 4oz of Safflower Oil as the base, then:
These 3 herbs are enough, rather than choosing more and loosing the power of just these 3. More is not better.
If you are using herbs, you may need to let them steep in the oil for some time before the magical oil can be used. If you use the herb made into an essential oil, you will be able to use the oil immediately.

Be Inspired!
I hope this has inspired you to start looking into making your own oils. We have a few recommendations for oil and formula books:
- Scott Cunningham’s Incense, Oils & Brews
- Encyclopedia of Herbs– I believe everyone should have a copy of this book on hand, as Cunningham was the expert in this area. If you don’t wish to read the book, he did make a DVD called Herb Magic. Cunningham has since passed (RIP), so the DVD is a tad dated but well worth the watch.
- Helping Yourself with Magikal Oils by Maria Solomon is an a to z list of magical herbs and oils with their uses, and some great authentic formulas too!.
