The Magical Uses of the Odin Stone

A witch stone or Odin stone, is a rock of any kind that has a natural hole caused by water current. This powerful stone is usually irregular in shape, or rounded and full of holes. It is also said that the holes are caused by snakes too. They are usually found in streams, rivers or along the seashore.

If an individual finds this stone coincidently while walking along the way, then it would be more powerful and effective.

The Magical Uses of the Odin Stone

These stones can be tied with either a yarn, wool or red rope. You can hang it on the following places:

  • Around the neck as an amulet.
  • On the headboard of the bed to protect a person from nightmares.
  • On the door of the farm for the protection of animals.
  • Place it on the stomach, to calm stomach pains.
  • On the necks of camels to protect them from evil spirits and the evil eye.
  • On the deck of the ships for safety purpose.
  • Place it on a person’s hand to make him/her to say the truth.
  • They are good stones used for making wishes. Place it in the palm of the non-dominant hand and then rub it with the thumb of the dominant hand in a clockwise direction. Do this while focusing on your intention and your requests shall be granted.
  • In the car to avoid accidents and breakdowns.
  • At your work place, to prevent envy and ward off the evil eye.

Going further

The Ancient Druids in Europe, used these stones for healing purposes. When passed through the body of a sick person, the stone absorbs the illness from the body through its holes. It is also believed that the holes in the witches’ stone were small doors that open into the other world. Possession of these stones can enhance the user’s psychic and divinatory abilities, as it enables one to see non-physical and elementary entities.

Also, it serves as a portal through which you can invite and activate positive energies while expelling negative ones. However, you must know how to open and manage the portal before trying it out.

RITUALS TO ATTRACT LOVE ON VALENTINE’S DAY

February is a month of love as people
around the world commemorate the Saint Valentine’s sacrifice for love. For all
those people who want to find love during this period or strengthen their
relationship, there are some rituals of love for Valentine’s Day.

FIRST RITUAL TO ATTRACT LOVE ON VALENTINE’S DAY

On February 14, get a red rose and red
ribbon. The rose will represent you and the ribbon will represent all your
expectations and desires. Sit down in a room where you are comfortable and
place the rose and ribbon in front of you.

Take the ribbon in your hands and think
about everything you crave in love. Meditate on the strengthening of your
relationship and if you are single you can wish to meet the right person. Blow
your wish on the ribbon then surround the rose with the ribbon by twisting it
all around the stem of the rose and finish making a knot between the two ends.

For the rose to represent you and focus
only on your wish, it is important that no other person besides you touch it,
so choose a place where it will be well hidden. After this ritual, love will be
attracted towards you.

SECOND RITUAL TO ATTRACT LOVE ON VALENTINE’S DAY

Items
Needed:

A candle, a candle holder and a sharp
quartz [for the color of the candle, trust your intuition].

With the tip of the quartz, draw a
heart on the candle. As you engrave the symbol, visualize that your desires
have been granted. Then place your candle in a candle holder and place the
quartz next to it.

Light the wick. When the flame shines,
continue your visualization. Be convinced that your need will soon be fulfilled
by power of the candle and quartz.

THIRD RITUAL TO ATTRACT LOVE ON VALENTINE’S DAY

You
will need
:

  • A pink candle,
  • an apple,
  • a red rose (ruled by Venus),
  • a white rose (governed by the moon, symbol of emotion), and
  • a red ribbon.

Steps:

  • Light the candle, place it on an empty
    table preferably.
  • Cut your apple into halves and put the
roses in two vases filled with water.
  • Place the vases on each side of the two
    halves of apple.

Watch the flame of the candle intensely
as you focus your thoughts on the person you want to conquer.

If you have no one in mind, simply ask
out loud that the one who is destined for you will soon appear in your life,
and say the following phrase:

“ May the love I wish for become a
reality and that we will soon become one . “

Here is a quick and easy way to make your own oils for all sorts of magic at home. Follow this system and you will not need to buy our oils again! However, you are always welcome should this process be to time consuming.

For a 16oz bottle of base oil you will pay between $10 to $25, depending on the type of base oil you choose. This size bottle of base oil will make you around 16 1oz bottles of magical oil.

The herbs will cost between $2 to $10 each if you choose to buy a 1 to 2 oz bag of herbs. However you will have many herbs already in your panty or in your garden. Try and find alternative herbs that you do have at home before you spend money on buying a herb just to follow another formula!

Bottles can be as fancy or as simple as you like. If you are on a budget, just save a glass food container, wash it out well, and yo have a free solution. Otherwise, we have a few ideas for you below.

Getting Started

One you know what type of oil you want to make, follow the BMW oil making process:

  1. Choose a Base Oil
  2. Gather the herbs
  3. Find some empty glass bottles

The Base Oil

Carrier or base oils have magickal properties too. They’re the foundation of the oil blends you make for anointing and to use in spells, rites and rituals.

The type of base oil used in most online stores is a mineral base oil.Hoodoo style oils lean towards those listed below, plus safflower oil,

These are the oils that I use most often and they’re found in supermarkets, health food stores or ordered online very easily. We sell some of these here in the store, however I have provided link to Amazon to help you as well.

Herbs & Oils

You should research a few herbs that have the properties of what you are trying to achieve. Don’t go overboard and put more than a few in your oil blend. Think about what each herb brings to the mix.

TIP – Remember to hold the herb and thank it for the energy it brings, before you add it to the oil.

For example, if you are making a Fast Luck Oil, you could use 4oz of Safflower Oil as the base, then:

These 3 herbs are enough, rather than choosing more and loosing the power of just these 3. More is not better.

If you are using herbs, you may need to let them steep in the oil for some time before the magical oil can be used. If you use the herb made into an essential oil, you will be able to use the oil immediately.

For example, using the Fast Luck Oil Formula

Bottling Your Oil

Creating potions, lotions, oils and spell mixes requires beautiful storage.

You don’t have to go to a warehouse and buy in bulk. Black Magick Spells supplies a wide range of bottles and jars, both in glass and plastic, to aid you in this endeavor. Ranging from 1/2 dram bottles to 16 oz jars, you’ll find what you need here.

TIPS:

As you blend the oils, visualize your intent, and take in the aroma.

Label, date, and store in a cool, dark place.

Be Inspired!

I hope this has inspired you to start looking into making your own oils. We have a few recommendations for oil and formula books:

  1. Scott Cunningham’s Incense, Oils & Brews
  2. Encyclopedia of Herbs– I believe everyone should have a copy of this book on hand, as Cunningham was the expert in this area. If you don’t wish to read the book, he did make a DVD called Herb Magic. Cunningham has since passed (RIP), so the DVD is a tad dated but well worth the watch.
  3. Helping Yourself with Magikal Oils by Maria Solomon is an a to z list of magical herbs and oils with their uses, and some great authentic formulas too!.

A Beginners Guide — Black Magick Spells

If you are new into witchcraft there are many considerations to think about before you cast your first spell.

The first question is:

What style of witchcraft or occultism am I currently comfortable following?

This question will take a little research. You must take the time and read widely before jumping into a magical path.

Do you want to practice Wicca?

Do you want to practice Traditional Witchcraft?

Is it Safe to Practice Witchcraft?

In most parts of the world today, you can openly state you are a witch, and you can practice witchcraft – and not be murdered! This is not the case in other parts of the world, where the accusation of witchcraft can still trigger of serious forms of violence, including murder. Such incidents are common in places such as: Burkina,Faso, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Nepal and Tanzania.

Accusations of witchcraft are sometimes linked to personal disputes, jealousy, and conflicts between neighbors or family over land or inheritance.

In Tanzania, about 500 older women are murdered each year following accusations against them of witchcraft or of being a witch. Apart from extrajudicial violence, there is also state-sanctioned violence in some jurisdictions. For instance, in Saudi Arabia practicing witchcraft and sorcery is a crime punishable by death and the country has executed people for this crime in 2011, 2012 and 2014. (1)

Such incidents have also occurred in immigrant communities in the UK, including the much publicized case of the murder of Victoria Climbié

Learning Wicca — Black Magick Spells

Do you want to practice Wicca?

Wicca is a religious practice, following the “turning of the wheel” throughout the year. Not all Wiccans practice spell casting. While you once joined a coven to be considered a Wiccan, you will find many people calling themselves Wiccan solo practitioners. (Not a bad idea if the local coven is not to your liking!)

Wicca also has many paths and some of the most popular paths today are listed below. Other Wiccan paths not included below are:

  • Celtic Wicca
  • Druidic Wicca
  • Norse Wicca

If you are not sure which Wiccan path you would like to follow, Lisa Chamberlain has written an affordable guide “Wicca: Finding Your Path” so you can decide on the most suitable Wiccan path for you!

Gardnerian  – Gardnerian witchcraft, is a tradition in the neopagan religion of Wicca, whose members can trace initiatory descent from Gerald Gardner. The tradition is itself named after Gardner (1884–1964). You can only become a Gardnerian Witch by initiation – you cannot initiate yourself. To progress through the various degrees in the movement, you must go through a structured system where you gradually learn more and more about witchcraft.

Alexandrian – In the 1960s, Alex Sanders and his wife Maxine branched from Gardnerian Wicca into ‘Alexandrian Wicca.’ It is based on the Gardnerian Wicca practices, but incorporates elements of ceremonial magic and Qabalah, too. There are three levels of witchcraft, following an initiation, that an Alexandrian Witch can attain.

Dianic Wicca – Founded in the USA, late 1960s, this is a feminist tradition, that focuses solely on the supremacy of the Goddess, rather than emphasizing the gender polarity of the Gardnerian concept of deity. Dianic Wiccans will meet on Esbats, Sabbats, and other significant times such as when a member or someone in the community is in need, but the work within these circles is very fluid and follows a woman-centered approach in all things.

Seax-Wicca – also founded in the U.S. in the 1970s, by a British-born witch named Raymond Buckland, a High Priest in the Gardnerian Tradition and started the first Gardnerian coven after moving to New York in the early 1960s. However, he found that the hierarchical structure of Gardnerianism resulted in ego-battles among American initiates, so he founded Seax-Wica as a way of continuing what was useful about Gardnerianism but in a fashion that was more suited to American culture.

Seax-Wica is inspired by Anglo-Saxon Witchcraft as it was practiced in Anglo-Saxon England between the 5th and 11th centuries. Its main deities are Woden and Freya, who represent the God and Goddess as found in the original Gardnerian Tradition. There is an emphasis on studying herbal lore and several forms of divination, including Tarot and runes.

There are many differences between Seax-Wica and the more orthodox forms of Wicca. The biggest may be the lack of secrecy. There is no oath of secrecy for coven members, so it’s not such a challenge to find out what goes on in covens, how they approach their rituals, etc. In fact, rituals and Sabbat celebrations can be open, if the coven so chooses. There is also no Book of Shadows in this tradition, and adding new material to rituals, magic, etc. is welcomed if practitioners see fit.

There are no degrees of advancement within covens as there are in other traditions, and coven leaders are democratically elected, serving a term of one lunar year (13 full moons). There is also no emphasis on lineage—in other words, being initiated by another Seax-Wica witch is not necessary. Self-dedication is recognized as a perfectly acceptable entry point to this form of the Craft. (2)

Solitary Wicca – a Solitary Witch does not belong to a set practice, group or organization. Many newcomers to the religion may start out as solitaries, learning and exploring until they feel drawn to explore practicing with others. Similarly, some coven members may ultimately decide to move to a solitary practice, whether due to the dissolution of the coven they belonged to or other circumstances. (2)

Eclectic Wicca

I like to call this path “Chaos Wicca” where you are picking the best parts of the above traditions, and omitting what one does not desire! “Some might create highly unique ritual structures completely from their own inspiration and imagination, while others might simply blend two or more traditions with little to no original material added in.” (2)

“The reasons for creating an eclectic practice are many, but it often has to do with being a solitary Wiccan with no immediate community to reach out to and learn from. Indeed, most Eclectics are solitary practitioners, though there are certainly covens and plenty of Wiccan circles that fit into this category.” (2)
